Position Overview:

We are seeking a proactive and organized individual to join our team as an Event Manager (Volunteer). Based in Toronto, Ontario, this role will play a key role in planning, coordinating, and executing a variety of events and activities to promote PCCC's mission, engage our audience, and enhance our presence in the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with PCCC leadership and committees to develop event concepts, themes, and objectives that align with organizational goals and priorities.
  • Plan and oversee the logistics of events, including venue selection, budget management, vendor coordination, and timeline development, to ensure seamless execution and successful outcomes.
  • Coordinate event promotion and marketing efforts, including creating promotional materials, managing event registration, and leveraging social media and other channels to maximize attendance and engagement.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for event participants, sponsors, and partners, providing timely communication, support, and assistance throughout the event planning process.
  • Recruit and manage volunteers to support event operations, delegate tasks, and ensure all roles are filled and responsibilities are clear.
  • Conduct post-event evaluations and analysis to assess event success, gather feedback, and identify areas for improvement, and use insights to inform future event planning efforts.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to event planning, expenses, and outcomes, and provide regular updates and reports to PCCC leadership and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in event planning, coordination, or management, preferably in a volunteer or non-profit setting.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and priorities effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships, collaborate with diverse stakeholders, and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Creative mindset with a passion for developing innovative event concepts and experiences that resonate with target audiences.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, event management software, and online collaboration tools.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed to accommodate event schedules and commitments.
  • Enthusiasm for the mission and values of PCCC and a commitment to promoting entrepreneurship, economic development, and cultural diversity within the Philippine-Canadian community.
